The Mayoress of Wivenhoe, Pam Nevard had the pleasure of attending the Children’s Act of Remembrance Service on Sunday the 10th of November 2019.

They joined family and friends in the William Loveless Hall to enjoy a programme of readings, poetry and beautiful artwork produced by the young people and a moving tableau of a D Day soldier.

All sections of the Wivenhoe Scouts and Guides were represented and contributed to the programme. First and second Guides, Rainbows, Mowhawk and Munson Cub Packs, Rangers, Beavers, Scouts, first, forth and fifth Brownies and their Leaders.

Explorer Scouts visited both cemeteries and laid crosses on the graves of the fallen of both World Wars.

This was followed by a parade to St. Mary's where they joined the rest of the Community in the Act of Remembrance.
