Parking Issues

Published: 10th April 2019

A group of residents are trying to resolve worsening parking issues in Woodland Way.  There was an attempt to resolve this with an application for a TRO in 2015.  However, it covered too large an area. The residents in Beech Avenue, Elm Grove and Parkwood Avenue were not directly affected and the application failed because of lack of support.

Plans are now taking place to canvas residents and make the application for a TRO. To be considered a TRO application requires 80% support from residents and the larger the area, the more difficult that is to achieve. In addition, the TRO application process requires the support of locally elected councillors

April 2020 Update - Town and borough councillors are working together to address and alleviate parking issues around De Vere Lane, and the slowly increasing situation with people coming into the town to use the station to commute to London, parking in the streets.
