Wivenhoe Town Council's Skatepark, with metal ramps and rails set on tarmac, is located on the King George V playing field, High Street, CO7 9AB , an open access public space adjacent to Wivenhoe Wood.
Sadly, it has been subject to vandalism over the last year despite being a very popular amenity. Until we are able to raise sufficient funding to replace it with something more modern (likely cost of a small skatepark can be in the region of £150k) we continue to do a lot of work to keep it usable.
We are hoping to reach out to the community to help us with the eventual design and to make it something that the town can be rightfully proud of. If you would like to be involved, please contact the council offices.
Going forward we hope to establish a working group, possibly combined with a youth council, to look at funding and design.
