Older People Services


Age Uk


Too many older people feel they have no one to turn to for support. Age UK exist to help older people when they need it the most with information and advice, tackle loneliness, get older people active and support people to be independent for longer.

Water Supply


Anglian Water supplies water and water recycling services to the east of England.





If you have concerns about river flooding or flooding relating to the town drain, please contact the Environment Agency.

Social Welfare Service Grants


Grassroots provides grants of up to £1000 to voluntary and community organisations which are delivering  social welfare services to improve the lives of people in Colchester and Tendring.

Colchester Neighbourhood Watch have launched a 'Little Book of Big Scams' to 'raise awareness of the ever evolving ways that criminals use to scam the public out of hard earned money'.

Environmentally Focused Social Enterprise


To help Essex and the surrounding area be more environmentally friendly by offering affordable repairs, pre-loved electricals, refills without packaging and affordable bikes to help people get active through their Route 51 cycling project  - call 0779 949 4797 or email repairreuse@gmail.com.

UK Power Networks are responsible for electricity cables across the South East and East of England and can be contacted online or by calling 105 from a landline or 0800 31 63 105.

Provision of Housing


The Wivenhoe Housing Trust has 13 properties providing safe, secure and comfortable homes for people living in Wivenhoe or for elderly relatives living elsewhere. In the future we would like to provide homes for young people too.

We also manage a ‘hardship’ fund in the name of the Jonathan Feedham Charity. This is available to help Wivenhoe residents in financial distress. Contact Peter Hill, Chairman of the Charity (Tel: 01206 823073 Email: peter@toadhall2.co.uk) for further details.
